Brandon Collins has been performing, composing, and pursuing artistic endeavors since his childhood. In 2012, he graduated with academic distinction from the University of Oklahoma with a Bachelor of Music Education, and he is currently working on his Masters of Music Education from The University of Oklahoma. During his collegiate days, he pursued an eclectic arrangement of music and performance opportunities on and off campus.
As a clarinet player, Brandon was a top member of the OU Wind Symphony, Symphony Band, Chamber Winds, Jazz Ensemble, and Chamber Jazz Group throughout his student career. This included opportunities as diverse as recording new works for contemporary band and jazz artists to performing in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.
As a vocalist, Brandon has performed in many professional and collegiate settings, including singing in OU Chamber Choir, OU Jazz Concerts features, OU University Chorale, and an array of collegiate musicals. He has been featured as the solo singer in Dr. Andrew Marshall’s Jamaican spiritual arrangements, and he has taught voice in private and ensemble settings. He received his accreditation and instruction in clarinet from Hope Sharum Volpe, the late Dr. David Etheridge, Dr. Dave Carter, Jozsef Balogh, and Dr. Suzanne Tirk, and he has received private vocal coaching and training from Dr. Andrew Marshall, Tyrone Chambers, Josh Phelps, and Dr. Richard Zielinski. Previously, he was the head band and choir director at Locust Grove. Currently, he is the associate director of bands at Skiatook Public Schools, and teaches lessons privately for Owasso Public Schools.
